Spouse just got the news today. No merit raises. Bonuses cut 5%. Due to looking ahead to potential challenges in the coming year. For people thinking, oh, those fat cat VPs can handle it... JPMC calls assistant managers VPs and while the pay band bottom is 80K, they routinely "promote" people to VP without paying them in the VP band. JPMC's Q3 earnings were $9.4 billion.

They cut an average of 10% off bonus even if you were in a profitable area. But then no executives took a cut, nice way to stick it to the struggling worker, take care of the top but not the workers who keep the gears oiled and moving.
Do VPS really do that much? Mine flat out s—s and never helped me anything. Any question or problem I had I always had to figure it out. Not sure if I had a bad one or if they are all like this but I would say my vp is overpaid and definitely played a roll in me leaving the firm. A got a sweet avp roll externally making pretty close to 90k and so I am grateful for that miserable worthless jp Morgan vp. I will be missed as i was the cog that kept the team going. If this vp got a 10k bonus this is money not well spent
