Oracle talks about autonomous DB as if it's the cure for world hunger. Is anyone actually paying for this service? The cost is astronomical. I mean, it's just a bunch of Oracle DBAs running around behind the scenes trying to keep it up and running.

Oracle doesn’t understand the power of words, or their significance. For example, and granted, it is going back a bit, when the called a product collaboration. I bet that went over very well in France.
I don’t think Oracle understands the meaning of the word “autonomous”.
