Change by retiring all executives with 25 years or more with the company. Hire new talents from outside including a new CEO.

Yes, the carbon paper, acetate sheets and projectors are Emerson’s preferred technology. It’s what their leaders know. Oh yes, let’s not forget stage-gate for software development and it’s archaic IT leaders. Add in some bullying, abuse, improprieties and integrity issues and that sums up the exec team.

If Emerson acquires companies, they should promote the executives of companies that they acquire into more senior positions instead of putting an Emerson executive over the acquired companies and choking the acquired companies until they leave.

Emerson never learns about M&A.

Emerson is so acquisitive that they forget what it takes to innovate from within. I agree that Mark Bulanda and his team of M&A need to be disbanded.

Emerson executives can never survive outside of Emerson. They are too complacent.

First and foremost, ‘retire’ all executives who have been with the company for greater than 25 years. They are too accustomed to Emerson way of doing business that is so outdated. And it is difficult to change that mindset. So the only way is to ‘retire’ them, all of them.

Appoint/hire new executives who are not tainted in the old Emerson way.

First, fire the Chairman/CEO. Hire a new CEO from the outside. Separate the Chairman’s position. Sc-ap POR and stop finance from running and ruining the company.

Fire Mark Bulanda and the whole M&A team. Reward innovation from within.

Tipically all Emerson senior executives have spent their whole career in Emerson only so they have no other experience other than Emerson.

They have no benchmark to compare and are culturally unable to accept the idea that there might be other, better ways to do things.

They have trained to be executors like monkeys and obedient like dogs.

So, if I were an Emerson senior executive I would change nothing since I would be convinced to live in a perfect world and my brain would be unable to change nothing.

If you like to be proactive, to develop people and to improve process and organization, Emerson is not the place where to be.

First fire all the executives and the next level down. Abolish Chuck Knight’s processes that are ancient. This is 2020, not 1980. Invest in building cool new products that the market need instead of acquiring more companies. Emerson lacks innovation. There is none because people are not rewarded for being Innovative. They are punished.

You can’t change a company that wastes billions of dollars in acquisitions that have not generated any money for the past decade or more. This company has stagnated. They underpay, they are unwilling to keep employees trained. Software is getting hard. There is no area where this company is a leader in that space. We don’t have a single piece of software that others use because the entire company simply doesn’t understand how modern software is built.

If I was an executive I would have rage balls to tell whoever id–t comes with a plan to acquire another company for millions to go f— themselves. Instead to look at the areas of the company that are producing money and invest in those teams. Bigger raises, give them the latest tools the rest of the world uses, hire people to train them, and encourage them to create open source software and to use it.

It’s no use. This company is behind the curve and will be forever.
