Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Getting tired of this

Anyone else getting tired of being made to feel like we should be glad we still have a job? Man, I get it. Times are tough, jobs are scarce and management is breathing down our necks for every little thing. Am I glad I have a job - you damn straight! But that doesn’t give anyone the right to make me feel beholden. People need to GTFOH with that c-ap. I work for the company and in return the company gives me a check for my services - end of story.

Has anyone else had the pleasure of having all their orders on Compass being deleted without being told?
We are two months behind on all of our consumables. So now we wait which makes our product go out the door late. Great f—ing job procurement. I love how on the last town hall the procurement leader praised his team for how much they saved the company.
They didn’t save anything. They deferred payments. Everything will get reordered and we will face charges for our product being delivered to the customer late. But hey procurement looks good. What a shipwreck!

Literally days after the last layoff they brought in a couple interns to pick up some engineering slack. And they wonder why everything is behind schedule and why so many decisions aren’t being made. Because you got rid of much of the top level talent. And the new talent doesn’t want to take responsibility for decisions they should have no part of making.
The company’s stock price keeps climbing while the company continues to sink. When will it catch up to them. Stay tuned.

The best thing about layoffs is I can do less and less and not feel bad about it.

The great thing about all the layoffs is that Honeywell was able to raise their bloody dividend for investors who have no actual stake in how the company does financially.

Retired at the end of May. Glad to be out of there. The company unloaded so much senior talent that a lot of the businesses won't be able to come back due to the total stripping of experience in many areas. Look for a lot of selloffs and M&A by US companies like Honeywell post-Covid.

For those that remain, if you're young and talented, prepare the resume and find something better when the economy comes back. For the senior staff, unfortunately you might be stuck toughing it out to the finish line unless you can find something local.

As a HON layoff victim myself, I strongly encourage you to begin your job search now. It’s not going to get any easier to find a job than it is now. Even with today’s fantastic GDP number, things are still looking grim for the building and airline industries.

STFU - Document your functions per HOS. Train your replacement in China, India, Mexico, or Romania. Better yet a new H1B visa is in US site now to route more work to Center of Excellence in a low cost region.

Silly complaining ingrates.

New thing you know you will expect to make eye contact with an executive!

Get the hell out of there. There are companies out there that don’t treat their employees like trash. You deserve better than Honeywell. A lot of talented people that still work there do.

Companies are starting to think of employee more like a stock than actual people. They hired large groups while they need them and fired them even if they still do to make the balance sheet glamorous. No wonder nobody is staying with companies who cut benefits and ask for extra hours even although you are only getting pay for 8 hours of the day. Over working teams to exhaustion and then providing minimum vacation compare to the industry.

Apply for promotions internally and externally. The internal applications show “you’re trying”.

But that’s the go-to language “Be happy you have a job” and they enjoy saying it, this versus a few years back “stick with us” which create the future shaping propaganda since people were jumping ship, leadership has no strategy, just wants more with less which makes them utterly useless

We are nothing more than prostitutes, providing a service, and getting paid for it. The abuse we tolerate is also equal. You gotta get b1tch-slapped every once in a while by the pimps in management.

Intimidation is one of the ways to get you to do more with less. As long as they think it works it will continue....
