Thoughts on AIG announcing their plans to separate the line of business?

They need to sell it or spin it off, then sell the stock in that company so PZ can loot the company and BD can fly around on a new jet...

They need cash and need it quick....

Sell claims to whom? Without L&R, general insurance alone will just sink deeper and deeper. Other companies are fusing to withstand these times and AIG instead break up... But hey, these decisions are made by high paid professionals, they'll know for sure what they are doing, aren't they?

Are they making L&R it's own company owned by aig so they can sell off claims or sell L&R?

The L&R group is the only division making money. Why would they do this? Does this mean they are shopping this division ?

Remember when the stock was in the 60s and Icahn wanted to breakup the company. Good times.
