Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

SMB?

Is an SMB position worth the risk for a potential BAM role during these unique times? Or is retail the safer bet?

They are having reps move into the Smb store specialist roles so they can transfer them to telesales SMB in a couple months. It’s all low pay and RIS will be harder than being a store rep. If you go to that position you’re not going to like it.

I am in B2B currently. Came from Indirect. Been here for about 1.5 years. I thinking it is about time to look around the 2 year mark as I can’t think mentally anyone wants to do this long term. It is tough. It is the toughest job in the company and the toughest job I have ever done. The pressure unreal. It is like Verizon 2010 over here. However, the rewards are real and the ability to build your resume internally and externally is well worth it. But beware what you want. People can go through mental depression with this job. If you don’t see a path in retail and think about the future this is definitely the job. You can speak IT and have strong conversations that will develop you skills.

At this point your goal should be getting in as much experience for your next job so I say go for it. I don’t foresee Verizon being a long term goal for us frontline people. Get some good experience that’ll help you build your resume so I say go for it

Can you get a severance in SMB? I think that should be the question. Ship is sinking plan accordingly.
