Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Merchant Services

I am a BSC in California and I heard from a pretty reliable source that 50% of us are getting laid off next week, right before Q4. This would make sense because these are typically our slowest months. Any other reps on this site hear of anything similar or have any info? Thanks and God Bless!

Unlikely that this line of business would be sold off. The guy in charge of merchant svcs and card was integral at JPMC when they took their own merch svcs business in-house without partnering with first data. plus, merch svcs is a fee based business so it can grow without affecting the asset cap situation. that being said, it doesn't seem to be doing so great right now, but that's the case across many areas. if BSCs are closing bigger deals, i bet they are fine. it's the small deals that could be booked online which is where it may affect the sales team

There’s a multiyear agreement w WF+Fiserv, highly doubt selling off at all.

They're having a garage sale! Everything is being sold.
