Forbes: 10 Signs Your CEO is a Loser

  1. Your CEO has little to no interaction with regular employees, spending most of his or her time with a few senior executives.
  1. You have heard your CEO’s name but don’t know anything else about him or her.
  1. Your CEO doesn’t seem to know about or care about the company culture — his or her interest is strictly in the numbers.
  1. Your CEO hires and promotes people who are not qualified for their jobs, and doesn’t seem to value leadership abilities in his or her senior staff.
  1. Your CEO spends more time in front of the media than dealing with his or her own teammates.
  1. Your CEO manages through intimidation, threatening to fire people when they goof up.
  1. Your CEO blames other people for mistakes rather than taking responsibility for them.
  1. Your CEO doesn’t seek input, but makes decisions in private and announces them as done deals.
  1. Your CEO takes credit for successes, rather than sharing the limelight.
  1. Your CEO doesn’t seem to care about anyone except him- or herself.

Reviewing this post puts it all in to perspective for me. It’s a neutral source, Forbes. Pretty difficult for the cheerleaders to keep singing Charlie’s praises if you truly looks at the facts before you.

Just repeating something. someone else said on a previous thread, that really hit home with me:

We all deserve to work for a CEO who cares about the future of this company.

This "CEO" is here to take heat for reorganization and layoffs. Nothing more!

@ikb, yep. It was the same at BNY Mellon. When I heard he was coming onboard, I knew it. I shuddered. It's awful. He did the same at BNY. He cut and then moved on.
I saw him in the elevator and someone was engaging him in a conversation. While he was polite, he looked bored as hell with the conversation. He was probably thinking if you knew what I am here to do, you wouldn't be boring me with your drivel.
I hope I find something before the smell of gasoline and the noise of the chainsaw starts.

This guy is here for 1 and only 1 reason. CUTTING COSTS and JETTISONING off unprofitable business. The next guy/gal will be the one to lead us to the promised land.

@vzo: if you can’t logically make a connection between the quality of the CEO and the future of your company/job/layoffs/employee morale/work environment/stability, then there is no explanation that will make sense to you.

You have heard your CEO’s name but don’t know anything else about him or her.

I know our CEO is a guitar playing stud, who likes to break it out and jam a few riffs during OC meetings.

Your CEO has an up yours smug look at the little people when you see him around Hudson Yards.

Also, your CEO makes unconscious biased statements about minorities making you feel even more ashamed to work there.
