Don't turn in your laptop until the last day. Reason I say this is that they will probably let you keep it. I was let go last June. The day before my last day (June 17th) I received an email that said I can keep my laptop if I wanted but the value would be taxable. If you find yourself in a position that you would need to replace your pc then hold out and see if this is still the policy so you don't have to buy another.

hard hitting stuff here.
Yes do backup everything before your last day. I remember I forgot to do this and literally the day after my last day in mid July, the COE literally nuked everything off my computer leaving me nothing but the BIOS screen.
Backup your photos and contacts and wipe the drive, then reinstall Windows 10
How did you get the fresh version of Windows 10?
Some of the Aruba and SimpliVity people had MacBook pros when acquired. It's not just execs.
"What department do you have to be in to get a MacBook Pro?"
Only executives get Macs. Security team knows they are more secure than HP hardware.
What department do you have to be in to get a MacBook Pro?
At the end of July, the laptop was valued at $225 regardless its age, I knew some forks’ $3000 MacBook Pros were valued at $225 at that time as well.
Mine was one of the older thin Elitebooks valued at around $300.
How much was the value?
What if your laptop is one of the cheap piles of junk they were issuing a few years back to save money? I'm sure most people would be happy to hand those back.
Forgot to mention, you will be able to redownload a fresh free copy of Windows 10 after your last day.
