PT work for front line employees will lower the quality of service bar. I mean look at the DMs. They work part time and bring little to zero trickle down impact to the success of their districts. I'm pretty sure this "no DMs in the store experiment" has shed a light on their real value. I mean how much does one call a week impact the success of the store?
DMs are just waiting around for their parachutes. Now we are going to try to attract "talent" to run our complicated yet junky POS systems and try to have the part timers stay up with our daily promotional changes, business confusion and other technical and "one off" issues. These people will be less invested and give less real solutions for the customers coming into the stores. It doesn't take a day or a week to train someone to do this job.
It takes an individual months to be effective and longer to be productive. Once all other "convenient" options are exhausted the store is the customers last refuge. "saving" money by hiring lessor quality part-timers that will never stick around due to the BS we all have to deal with in our VZW culture will result in higher churn. Our losing customers will be the next great mystery to these folks in leadership. They will stare at their downward trending quarterly results never really knowing what happened. But they will again blame the people they set up for failure when discussing this in their secret BlueJean meetings. Guess the service quality will now match the 5G quality. This is what corporate decisions look like when the CEO and other corporate leaders get so detached from the front line. They start calling you "group names" like gang and V-teamers. They couldn't do the job of a solutions specialist but they sure can work a spreadsheet and truly deliver an empty message. Gosh, I wish we could have an evening Up-to-speed call too. My life would be complete. Trying to be relevant looks so sad. Somebody should tell them.

Heres a good one that i heard... so said rep goes to part time 32 hours to go to school, asks the manager for certain days off but is denied because “we need to fill the needs of the store/business” so now said rep either has to use sick time or vacation time to get certain days off for school.
Does this make any sense? Whats the point of moving down to part time? The communication and video promoted work / life balance !! So anyone moving to part time to either work another job or school is screwed!!
Rep called HR and was told that there is nothing that can be done.
Unreal!! The 80% of customers outside say that this company s—s and 100% of frontline say this company s—s
Yeah the idea of hiring only PT 24/32 is insane. How would you do it? I would quit so quick trying to figure out all these broken systems, complicated promotions, ever changing policies, 100 different devices releasing a year, pressure from metrics, customer abuse and I could go on. Like who the f— would want to do this job part time. You would be better off doing a gig job. This job used to be you make one wrong mistake on an account and you could get fired. Now we are hiring people that flip burgers to work this all out?
@1vgj+172E7qMZ Never seen a dm inspire us common folk lol
The lousy Retail Directors as well, GET RID OF THEM. Have you ever seen a more USELESS position than Retail Director. They are a JOKE and COMPLETE waste of revenue. There was a day and time when we had true LEADERS. People with class that inspired others to succeed. People that didn't simply beat the numbers drum but were people of high caliber that led by example and could not only talk the talk but walk the walk as well. The persons holding those positions today are the lowest quality of leaders that have ever held them. P U
But it doesn't really matter. The way our corporations are set up is quarterly results. Not future results. Customers are no longer customers they're consumers. The only true customer is the shareholder.
I've tried to tell them, but they just look at me like I'm yelling the sky is falling.
Keep the full timers and lose the DMs
