Ok,so the word is out about raises. In my opinion it's a good thing, for some. Others have been left in the dark that work elsewhere in the Club besides front end. Will they get raises too? I know many hard working floor people who are p-ss-d right now. The store is going to become divided and work ethic and work production will slow down. Raises are nice, but jest needs to happen to douse the fire or potential fire is that managers need to let floor people, fresh people that their time will come, their raise will come. If not, you ste going to see a major attitude shift in many works. A job is nice to have, but not when you are bring screwed over. Some associates are lazy as can be, some work hard. Many left during Covid and ran on LOA. Many have stayed since day one, knowing that if they dont show up, people dont eat. Do what I hope you will do Sam's for the rest of the floor people that make you look good when the higher up walks in the front door. If not, be ready for alot of angry workers.

Eveeryone will get a raise at some point.
Raises are great but it’s pretty c-appy that the company doesn’t take care of their long term associates and give raises to them as well. It’s ridiculous that new people will be making the same as some who have been there 15-20 years
If you are able to receive $15 an hour (at any job) and get 40 hours a week it is still poverty wages if you have a mortgage/rent and all the bills associated with having a roof over you head.
$15 an hour sounds like a lot on paper, but......
$15 X 40 = $600 gross a week (you have deductions that reduce that for your net)
$600 X 50 weeks = $30,000 a year gross (I used 50 weeks presuming 2 weeks of vacation)
After taxes and deductions, this is closer to $21-26k take home. Another consideration is apartment rent. In most cases, for a semi-livable apt, aka dump, this has become 50-60% of your wages. This is the reality of renting in America today.
So now, what remains is roughly $13k, give or take, for utilities, groceries, car insurance and everything else not mentioned. This includes college tuition if you are motivated enough to get yourself out of the he!!hole that is Walmart.
Can someone do this? Absolutely. It's called living within your means. But these people are just surviving. Barely keeping their heads above water.
This is just a reality check of $15 an hour. It sounds like a lot but really isn't unless you don't have any major bills.
Tires deserves another bump were doing everything but meat and cafe .. pulled 20 directions...
the part they are not telling people is eventually cashiers will be eliminated. so then what fighting over sc-aps no thanks ill move on
Nothing says you can't put in for one of the higher paying jobs. Seems to be plenty of them, at least in our club, both part and full time.
great posts. thank you. Many of us have worked everyday since the virus hit. We come to work and do our jobs. We are asked to cover breaks at the door, breaks at gas, gather carts, help sanitize carts, help the front end. We stock, zone, help members. We are valuable. What I was told is corporate feels the turnover rate will stop if they pay cashiers 15 an hour. I disagree. If you are a c-appy worker now, is money going to make you a better worker? I think not.
Nothing surprises me anymore with this company. I have lowered my standards a long time ago. Been here since 2002. I just stick around because I accumulate my pto so fast. It’s nice being able to take days off every month. Merchandisers should have been the first ones to get a raise since they pretty much have to cover every area. But the company doesn’t see it that way. I just sit back and continue to not be very productive. Work at my own pace and go above and beyond for my loved ones. Not some corporation.
