You’ve got it backwards, the CONTRACTORS did a disservice to many of these members to ensure future visits for the RN. Think about it, the purpose of in home is to help as needed, not make the member dependent upon the nurse. Yes, there are members who for a variety of reasons will need that ongoing extra assistance, but for the majority visits should be episodic with the member moving toward being able to care for themselves.
The contractors for Network ALL walked out as was being paid 50% of thier standard reimbursement so imagine they had enough. Now the Members that were In home are no Complex Telephonic Care Management of which I am covering I will say it's a royal mess!!! Many were so dependent on the in home that I am finding some who haven't see their doctor or had meds filled because "the nurse always did it". Humana did a disservice to these members.
In home will return post COVID. Think Kindred, Curio, etc. It’s all going to be H staff with some contractors in areas with lesser H presence. Why do you think they’ve been buying up HH businesses and now primary care practices? They’ve learned it’s very difficult to manage contractors and get them to perform at the level expected. Truth be told it’s a win for H associates and the company. CMS isn’t playing around anymore, they expect to see demonstrated results in improving member health.
He man I was focusing on in-home services but Covid canceled that. Until we get Covid under control in home services will be on hold or limited
I thought Humana at Home was gearing up to provide more services in the home setting....telephone work does not compare to the good work of in home associates....our Transitions or LTIH in home visits to members were welcomed by members and appreciated and were of great value...members will tell you over the phone they are adherent to their treatment plan and use of medications...health care professionals know we need to see for ourselves to truly accurately assess and evaluate member's self care..HAH leaders may think medication reviews via telephone review are accurate and reflect the true picture of the medications in the home?? They are wrong and misinformed.
In home Transitions and LTIH programs discontinued....telephonically managed from here on out??? Leadership in my opinion still vague about future of ECOM. Approx 150 employees affected in job loss..including managers..upper leadership.
Oh prayers coming your way. Keep us posted.I feel like Telephonic is next 😔
Chances are we are all being laid off tomorrow. Got called into a confidential meeting tomorrow morning.
We are all being called I to a confidential meeting tomorrow at 1030 est. managers for Ltih and transitions have a meeting before us then all ltih transition care managers have theirs. Prob being laid off.
I think hey were the Contractors and they pulled out. Humana has to look after the members.
I know Humana lost contract with company that was doing LTIH and transitions for them and pulled HCCP CM’s to make the calls.
