Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

To my old cowokers

To any of my old coworkers who see this: I hope you get some perspective on your career at Honeywell. So many of you confided in me, told me you hated your job, your boss, your benefits, things that made you miserable. I hope that one of you sees this and it makes a difference to you— please, put yourself first. Your life is too short and tok precious to be wasted being unhappy at a job. Each and every one of my teammates are smart, hardworking individuals and I hope you know that if you need the money, any company would be lucky to have you. I hope you take that leap of faith you’ve been putting off, and do what’s right for you. You’ve earned the right to be happy, I hope you take the step to make that a reality for yourself. Please, don’t waste away at a job you hate. Don’t justify staying because you just won’t work as hard. Your time is precious; if we’ve learned anything during this pandemic is that time is the only thing we can’t get back. So don’t sit around waiting for time to pass. Make a linked in. Send out your resumes. If you hate this job, and you are unhappy, I sincerely hope you make a change. Don’t wait until tomorrow. Don’t wait for ‘things to get better’. I hope you realize that you deserve to be happy, and you deserve to have a job that has a positive impact on your life

The previous Satcom Connectivity GM said once "if you are not happy, get happy or get out". He works for Blue Origin now. i got out too and I got happy LOL.

To the person asking if I ‘have another job to sparr’ That’s exsctly my point. Companies ARE hiring now. I’m saying you should put yourself out there, apply, see what you can get. It’s just straight up unhealthy to be so unhappy at a job every day, when there are better things out there.

I heard that in Honeywell aerospace attrition was in the 9% to 10% range last year. I also heard that the reason the 3 week furlough was cut to 1 week was due to attrition concerns.

Got another job to spare so that I can ditch this? If there is none, then stop your psychological BS and tell us something worth it.

Happiness at any company is not entirely what you make of it - in fact morale & positive employee relations are commodities & investments in its employees which any respectable business will make an effort to stockpile. A business that doesn't care for it's employees will see employee happiness are something to be titrated to just the right level, & cutting back with regular intervals as the workforce adjusts to new discomfort levels. So a cherry attitude is nice, but rather than searching for it yourself, wouldn't it be nicer if your employer inspired it in you thru their appreciation and commitment that they value you?

Having a job is a blessing, but only if you find a way to thrive in it - and your thriving is not part of the corporate adjenda. Being unemployed grants a certain gift of time & sanity & happiness & consistency, and if those sum to a better quality of life than employment, it's time to get out.

I hear you, but happiness at any company is what you make of it on a daily basis. Just to have a job in this climate is a blessing, so don’t jump off a cliff in hopes that another company will save you.
