Several of us here in NY were already certifying every week since April when we were told we were “no longer needed.” Or rather thrown aside. So can someone please let us know where we actually claim the severance money on the certification page. It’s not a part of the six questions we have to answer. I am sure my severance will be over the $504.00 and I want to do this correctly. Of course none of my colleagues can get a hold of anyone at NY Dept. of Labor.

It says you don’t have to claim it because it was issued 30 days or more after your last day. I’m in NY and I didn’t after reading that on multiple areas of the site.
I like to keep things on the up and up for NYS govt. agencies too. Eventually, they would find out about your severance and hit you with a penalty on top of making you repay what you've received. There are 2 ways (besides trying to reach a State Worker on the phone) to get info put into your claim: 1)Send a secure message in your State account and tell them the amounts of severance; and 2)make copies of the documents and send them to NYS Dept. of Labor via Priority mail. They want your name, SS# and phone # on each document you send.
I don’t believe you have to claim it since you are receiving it 30 days after your last day.
