Access to benefits site for COBRA benefits

I went to the benefits site to set up and pay for my COBRA benefit, but I get the message that I have to re-register. Apparently they updated their site on July 21 and everyone has to re-register. To register, they have to send you a security code, but the ONLY option is to have it mailed to you! So on July 24 (yes I just missed getting set up before their so-called security enhancement), I requested a code and they said they sent it to my address. But it never arrived!

Today I was on the phone with them and they confirmed that the code was sent and to the correct address. The code has expired, so I requested another one. Hopefully, I get it this time. I have to have access so I can pay for the COBRA. The only way to pay without having access is by mailing a check, which is not an option for me.

Anyone else having this problem? They lay off thousands of workers, reset everyone's account on the benefits site, and expect everything to be done via snail mail and checks?!?!?! C'mon, this is the 21st century!!! I'm afraid that by the time I get access, the grace period for signing up for COBRA will have expired!

If you have major preexisting conditions then you will be stuck with Obamacare or COBRA. If your preexisting condition is minor and is unlikely to cause major issues for a year or longer then you could go with Triterm. You should also not that Triterm won't pay for preventive care for 6 months either.

Obamacare is only affordable if you qualify for the subsidies.

I left 3 years ago and HW switched over to a new system in mid stream of my COBRA benefits. I paid my premium in the old system and the new system did not show the payment. After 10 calls to HW, I finally had to called the Dept of Labor and I got the credit within two weeks.

I decided against COBRA. There are short term plans on the exchange for about the same price. But I decided on a non ACA complaint catastrophic plan for about $100 a month and a GoodRX gold card for $6 a month. Covered me for 3 months.
The plan was from a company called Aspen American Insurance Company and literary only good for something like an auto accident. Fortunately, Alpine list of pre-existing conditions was shorter than most non-ACA plans and didn't care about past surgeries.

Honestly, while I had to switch my pharmacy to safeway, GoodRX meds were cheaper than Honeywell's plan. And Safeway gave me $50 per pr-scrip-ion I transfered.

Check out United Healthcare Triterm. (if you live in Arizona) Way cheaper than COBRA and to be honest cheaper than the Honeywell insurance they provided with imployed.

I received a security code in the mail and I logged on to pay for the benefits.

Maybe they should have HCE do something useful and fix the issue instead of developing slideware on what they are going to do.

You can sign-up when you call the benefits hotline, I never used an access code and signed up through my phone call. You will get the packet through the mail with all the information you need. The grace period is actually pretty long, I had till August to decide if I wanted COBRA or not, and my paid benefits ended June 30th.
