Do you really think that all these layoffs under your watch is consistent with the old hp way? Would Bill and Dave laid off all those thousands of workers that you have?
How many people have you laid off this year?
How many last year? The year before?
How about some transparency with these numbers instead of sweeping it under the rug as usual?
And finally, how many more people are you going to lay off in the next 2 years?

I agree. Don't bring up Bill and Dave.
The stark difference between the current HPE and the old HP with Bill and Dave is the point of the original post. Neri wants to come across as "leading with his heart", and "trust and respect for individuals and being a force for good". All this while he repeatedly lays off thousands as if it is a normal, regular business practice. And it is a normal regular business practice for the current HPE.
Neri is being disengenuous, hypocritical and insincere. He should never talk about Bill and Dave. HPE should remove Hewlett and Packard from it's name. Maybe just call itself Enterprise
You'd have to have lived through the days with Bill and Dave at the helm to get it and see the difference.
There is nothing wrong with emulating the old HP Way but it's really not part of HPE nor HPI anymore. The gap is far too long. But I won't claim it's the wrong things to try and bring back. It would be great but it's not going to be the same.
I’m not the only one invoking Bill and Dave. Neri does and CRN does in their interviews with him. You might be right that its a different company now, but Neri wants to be associated with the founders original values.
Here is an excerpt from an interview with Neri and CRN.
At the same time, Neri has focused HPE squarely on innovating – one of the original hallmarks of the Silicon Valley jewel. He has also restored the Hewlett-Packard culture of trust and respect for individuals and being a force for good, a central doctrine of Neri‘s leadership philosophy.
Those cultural tenets from HP founders Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard have struck a chord with HPE employees, said Melkote. “There has been a fantastic congruence of forces within the company,” he said. “That has really given us a lot of energy to move forward with confidence.”
HPI and HPE have nothing to do with the original Hewlett-Packard Company. That went with Agilent and the spinoff Keysight. Seriously, they are no longer related and continuing to invoke Bill and Dave is meaningless. I don't mean this as a slight, but a fact.
Think of the current HPI/HPE as Compaq with a different name.
Thank you Antonio, for reading and replying to my post.
Don’t you know? HPE will make a complete turnaround around as soon as the old fat lazy engineers are purged from the company. Of course, most of young college hires will jump to another job after a couple years when they realize they can’t get a decent raise or bonus.
I will continue to lay-off as many peons as it takes to ensure my own obscene salary. Plebes like you exist solely to enrich your superiors. Now get back to work you worthless serf.
