Sorry OP. But to the folks commenting that Dev is a critical business unit:
The only development Oracle really cares about at this point is OCI development, most of which is done in Seattle (the new de facto headquarters). And even there I've seen small RIFs happening.
If you are hourly employee, didn’t submit time card on Tuesday evening and didn’t get missing timecard email, you are on the list.
Asked to join an overlay team, then they cut the entire team to cut expenses. Oh well, that’s 22 years of a pay check. Under 50, and young enough to find a new gig.
Oracle S—s. Run. Call the EEOC...
Welcome to the other side, OP. Breath the free air. They got me just prior to my 65th, but severance carried me for another half year. I found no companies hiring oldies, so, I started my own. Listen, Oracle didn't hire dummies, and if you worked for them, you are a cut above most of the working population. Get some!
Any sense of how many at ODC? Just Broomfield or other locations too?
Oracle Data Cloud hit today. Not sure of numbers.

That is exactly what is happening, although the vast majority of Oracle employees refuse to believe it.
Think scorched earth.
To the OP, sorry to hear the news. Within a few years myself, hoping to make the finish line.
Not a good sign when they start cutting at the heart of the org.
Things must be really, really bad if they are axing senior developers. Big cuts in something like Oracle University is one thing, but it is a desperation move to start axing the the people who actually make the products.

Development
what division?
Major RIFs at OIT. Lot of people to be removed under J Es. Some already gone and others are being announced slowly.
