I wonder if they are doing this to avoid requirements of the WARN act and to minimize negative publicity. It's made me super paranoid and anxious. I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship with my employer. I loathe Truist.
Tough Love gave the best advice. Look at your values and those around you. Do the align? I’ve heard cuts will be the last week of every month this year. I was the result of the last one.
I 100% agree with the last post. I was with the bank for a very very long time, however definitely not the same place anymore. Hard work and exceeding expectations just don’t mean anything anymore, so I decided to take control away from the bank and make things happen for myself. I left about 6 months ago and it was the best thing I ever did. Total career path change and I LOVE IT!!!
This week, next week, this quarter...doesn't matter. It is coming and it is coming for a good number of us. It is time to ask yourself some tough questions staring with; Am I part of a Cost Center or a Profit Center?
If you are a part of a Cost Center, you will be the at the TOP of the list of people/departments/groups to be reduced, off-shored or cut. Period.
Next Steps:
- Don't buy any nice cars, homes or plan any lavish vacations in the next 9 months.
- Start stockpiling cash. If you have a budget, tighten it. If you don't, make one!
- Begin networking
- Tighten-up the resume ASAP.
If you are part of a Profit Center it is time to start looking hard at yourself and the management team around you. Are you at the top of your pay grade? Been in the same role for a while? Good reviews but nothing meteoric? Manager been around for a long time? Is he/she tolerated but not liked by their management team?

Moral of the story: Don't WAIT for things to happen. MAKE things happen.
Can we expect anything the rest of this week?
Quite day, no news is good news!
Look at the other comments on the details post, employee rationalization, that will give you an idea what's coming.
The goal is to reduce by at least 25% year end. Every Department.
What department are you in?
