It's nobody's fault, it's just business. Why the bitterness?

OK, as a frequent contributor to this Macys layoff thread, it hurts when I see two sides:
Those who were called back & those who were let go/on furlough.
I see a lot of bitterness from the call-backs being thrown at the furloughs and layoffs over collecting unemployment. Why? We all need to remember that a choice was not given to ANY of us with regards to coming back or not. If were weren't asked, you were allowed to collect unemployment +. If you WERE called back, you had to go because if you refused, you couldn't collect. How, then, is this anyones fault? The company made these choices, not us, so live with it. Just because a coworker is collecting more than you because you have to work doesn't mean ANYTHING since it's ending soon anyway. Did you current workers forget about the insurance you have that we DON'T?? Life isn't cheap, so you have guaranteed income, but furlough/layoffs do not. Unlike you, we can't know where our next check is coming from. Please have some understanding for all of us because this situation is FAR from over. Be kind to one another :)

Why do people have to get nasty about how you should just leave, you want the easy way out (wtf)? It's not that simple. Most of the people I work with have families and need to pay bills. Sure a better job would assist that. But it can be too risky to move onto something new and lose the benefits that come with long tenure. So they are effectively. They don't have time to study to change careers. Again, they have families. Let's be realistic. And the place is a real mindfuck as it is. I just hate when it's insinuated that people don't leave because they're lazy, when I think of the people who come in and just their a– every single day for nothing.

Workers have been played with like a cat with a mouse and those on top have enjoyed tis sport for years. The mice cannot express their anger directly and the cats design the system where the mice attack each other the cats enjoy.

Anger against a company? Really. When you apply for a job you know what you are getting in to, or at least you should be asking questions. People are angry with the company for paying peanuts, then find a job/career that pays better.
That is what this country is all about, freedom - to make your own destiny. No one will make it for you - including a company whose goal is to make money. Now why don't you work for a company that pays well, has great benefits and treats their employees with respect and dignity? Because you want the easy way out -
This is life- get used to it. It is not easy. I know many that have left Macy's to go on to much more fulfilling careers and are far happier.

Someone someway somehow made every "essential" worker hate on the non-essentials living on unemployment benefits while they make peanuts. When in reality that anger should be redirected to the company that pays them a sh– salary to do a job deemed "essential", not other people who also typically get paid sh–. Just my 2 cents
