Is the manager suppose to find coverage when an associate wants and needs vacation? I was told I needed to.find my own coverage only then my vacations would be approved

As a manager and I read some of these complaints I wonder how these people ever got to be promoted to a management position. Iv3 said this a million times we as managers depend on the hourlies to help keep us out of trouble by completing everything we throw on you guys, we have to have y’all to complete our task and on the the other hand you guys do not need us at all. You can do your job without any MGR. My personal opinion there’s too many mgrs in every club in most clubs and what I read on here quiet a few sit in the office and my club is no different we have 2 and they spend over 90% of there shift in the office every day. I don’t blame them I blame the CM for allowing it to happen.
I had a manager who stated that if you wanted more than 2 days off you had to plan your time off around your days off.
The same manager also refused to even look at any time off requests. The manager stated if you want the time off you need to personally ask the manager. Now when you did approach said manager about your time off requests, still nothing happens and eventually you have to go to the GM and ask if your request can be approved.
Sadly this situation was discussed with the MM and multiple complaints were sent to Ethics, but all fell on deaf ears and the responses from all were the same. Said party has been spoken with and will comply with all company policies and will also receive some additional training if necessary to aid in the knowledge of working time off requests.
Wow. Can management get more stupider or lazier? (That's a rhetoric question. No need to answer.)
It is NOT your responsibility to find coverage if your request is in advance of that schedule being written. If your request is after the schedule has been written, then yes, you should find someone to cover.
You just have a lazy manager.
Tell whoever to show you where it says this on the wire.
You are not responsible to find coverage. If your vacation is in August and you have PTO just call off and get paid. No points thanks to covid...
