Rest of us going back to work Oct 1?

Just following up on an corporate email. What's the liklihood? I heard ford isn't going back until next year at the earliest. Google July next year.

Heard most of the vacation time is going to be taken away this year to catch up, from what I understand the justification is that Mott is considering working from home as vacation time.

My neighbor who is a GM Executive heard that one of the benefits for bringing employees back Oct 1 per Mary B is the reduction of the over 55-year-old employees via "optional" early retirement. This reduces GM costs by replacing older with lower-cost younger employees. Due to their higher health risks, the older employees are less likely to stick around in a COVID-19 environment which is expected to last at least through the end of this year and likely well into 2021.

I love the paid foreign trolls. Can’t even string sentences together. The last comment appears to have been from google translate.

GM becomes the second after Ford because 1.5 years ‘stupid’ action - They laid off many talent engineers due to their ages and keep many inexperience engineers who only know how to kiss their bosses. FCA & PSA merger will put GM into the third. GM leaders are worry about this, and they initiated a legal fight with FCA to try to block the merger. Again, this is another ‘stupid’ action. MB always use a political mindset to manage the business, it will fail eventually.

Fair or unfair, letting people go and slashing programs in 2018 is why we’re in decent shape right now. Glad I’m not at Ford or FCA.

One can only imagine the wheeling and dealing that goes on behind the scenes . Probably very surprising how decisions are made .

I don't get what u mean by hidden agenda. What's the advantage? they let people go as soon as they come back? What's weird is they let people go 1.5 years ago, like they knew this was coming

A lot of people have not been taking vacation days so by the time everyone goes back in October - a lot of people will start going on end of the year vacations to use up their days. It’s weird the way they’re planning it - almost seems like there’s a hidden agenda?

Some IT employees are already back at work. They're just planning on expanding it.
