They paid $13 billion for a company worth $5 billion.
Chevron is definitely gonna trim headcount. Doubt it will be before the deal closes
Chevron reports $8.3 billion loss in 2Q. Now we know why layoffs are coming again so soon.
when you're not brought back to work and the furlough period ends there is no more employment. So layoff happens on that day.
Just a guess, but avoids WARN act notices if they spread them out?
Presumably the next round focuses on the remaining furloughed folks? I mean, it wouldn’t make sense to completely wipe out the company prior to the sale being completed.
I find this suspicious- why another round now? Why not clear the decks all at once under the guise of the last reorg?
if selling out some depts are not needed at all. No planning no negotiations no new contracts and no new computer system or projects. People who did that can go and Noble can save cash so DS BS KF RK JTL CM can retire.
I was on a Monday morning in 2016 but they’ve might have had 6 layoffs since then.
Does the day of the week really matter. The MAN can walk to your office any day of the work week to say the infamous “will you come with me to the conference room?”
Confirmed. Talked to “someone” in HR and heard it’s layoffs are coming mid to late August. If there is someone with the same title in your department consider yourself warned.
i heard mid-August. should be on the street shortly in your next department meeting
Every Layoff at Noble has been a Tuesday from what I can recall from the 6 I have been through.... I think October 6th is more likely, as the 180 Furlough/ Part Time period ends the previous Friday.
The 15th is a sat 🙄
