Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell is using the Covid situation to have Lay-off's in the US and sending work to HTS India.

Yes, many of the people RIF'd because of Covid and the Aerospace down turn are now being replaced by moving more work to HTS India. And yes it is happening....they are giving their managers no other choice. Honeywell has turned this epidemic into systematic outsourcing to other counties. Anyone in the US looking for long term employment with Honeywell should think again and examine other options. Maybe it is time for a boycott of all Honeywell products by consumers anyway...they are all made over-seas.

I know this for fact because I worked with them: HTS in India is very inefficient. The problem is the middle managers at Honeywell in the US and Puerto Rico are very incompetent and lack the technical knowledge; they even don't have a clue what is needed to complete each task, so they ship everything to India in order to shift any blames on themselves. Forget about Export Control and National Security, Indian nationals have access to all sorts of data ...

This is what 100% was the case in Atlanta. They used COVID as cover for planned layoffs. They were already moving jobs from the US to India, it happened with Connected Buildings.

Nothing new there, HON has been above 50% of engineering in HTS india since several years (may be 10 now), and this is well aligned with CTO's and their staff accross all SBGs.

I have seen an enormous drop in offshored work since mid 2019 in electronic side of aero.
It started well before covid. Do not mistake lack of work for offshoring.

Off shoring is the least of my worries.
Tarrifs and expulsions are the traditional heralds of war.
Economic ripples in the next 18 months will cause far more disruption than the w__ dreams of executives thinking about 18yr old malay girls wearing hijabs making $1/hr to build $50,000/hr of aircraft parts.

Time to support increased taxes on all revenue corporation make outside of the USA. They got their tax breaks to stay here... they got their decrease in the corporate tax rate (which they used for stock buy-backs). Now it is time to punish them for moving jobs and Technology created by Americans. Honeywell's Leaders are traders to the US.

It was happening well before the pandemic. Starting last year, our business unit’s Engineering estimates are 75% HTS India even though we have (had) plenty of domestic resources.

We are done for...

The systematic shift of jobs from the US and higher paid parts of Europe to emerging economies began years ago. COVID-19 has simply been an accelerant – like pouring gasoline on a fire – to achieve this end. The fact is that these countries are also experiencing COVID-19 restrictions and slowdowns, so we are simply seeing HI leadership's grand plan falling into place ahead of schedule. They could not be happier, and are attempting to hide their glee behind the virus spin.

HON Aero will NEVER recover from the pandemic. If your ok with your technical excellence ending in circa 1999 go ahead and stay for the rest of your working years.
