In Ca you can file for unemployment and still receive your severance. Also, that’s not what the question was.
In Illinois severance pay does not go against unemployment. So yes I can file for unemployment
You cannot file unemployment until the severance has expired. I am to receive 9 weeks of severance pay. I cannot file until the 9 calendar weeks have gone by. It is illegal and considered Government Fraud to be getting paid from BBB and collect unemployment.
I received my COBRA paperwork yesterday.
Did you get the email originally? The email attachments contains much more information than the mailed severance agreement. There is a severance payment reference calendar in mine. It states severance will be paid according to regular pay weeks. So if they received your paperwork back by the third you should get paid on the 18th. But like the previous poster said the agreement states they have 20 days to pay the severance.
Sorry but did you not read the legal agreement you signed. ?? It clearly states they have 20 business days after the one week waiting period you expired
If you have a copy of the severance paperwork it says 20 business days. Well at least that’s what mine says.
Unemployment pending ,severance and Cobra pending
If you sent it in right after getting it, it should show up direct deposit next week sometime.
No Cobra paperwork. No severence. I did get my 3 weeks paid vacation and a personal day.
No, I have not—also have not gotten any info on Cobra. I sent the signed paperwork back right away and have not heard anything at all—plus my
unemployment is still on hold pending confirmation from my employer.
