This is not a good time to get Riffed in the middle of the Fidelity Sh– show 401K conversion. I was on hold over an hour after getting Riffed simply trying to understand if I can use the rule of 55 to get to my 401K without penalty to pay for heating oil this winter. I missed 3 conference calls waiting for the person on the other end not answer my question. I still don’t have an answer. I don’t guess I should care that I missed those calls.

In light of the ongoing lay-offs, the whole “seeds of hope” and “hand out a lifesaver candy to make someone feel better” schtick is the most bizarre (and cruel) corporate gesture I have ever personally witnessed. It is literally like a scene from “The Office” or a “Dilbert” comic, except good hardworking employees are being hurt...
Funny... I was RIFd in July and still got the stupid “Seeds of Hope” in August. 🙄 They took out taxes for the “gift card” from my September check.
I recommend you start looking now and get out. I was thankful for the package but the job market is infiltrated and difficult. Find a job while you have one.
Could be...could be..,
If I get notified by mail, will they just include my severance notice with Kelly’s “seeds of hope” package to save on postage?
What state are you in?
What department were you in?
I received a phone call at 9:30 am to inform about their decision , since I was working remotely I had until 2pm to finish my work and the system access was cancelled. You will have time to review your data in the Workplace database(HR) , agree with the severance package terms and good bye so long! Eventually I'll receive a pre-paid envelope to return my laptop and if they remember I'll be receive a UPS package with my personal belongings that are still in the office.
Phone call because of Covid.
