Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Last gasp

We are already down on hours to the point we were running 1-2 associates on the sales floor in a high volume store. Down from around 7. Oh, and they're called up to run a register half the time.
We can't even get the little bit of stock we are receiving up on the shelves. We stopped disinfecting the store 2 weeks ago as we just don't have the time. We praise associates when they place an online order (beyond sale), like they've done something special. When all we've done is what we had to since there's no stock now that we can't order inventory at a store level. It takes a week or two to receive orders, (that are often wrong due to low-level, untrained associates shipping out the little stock we have from the stores to supplement the distribution centers). Why wait 2 weeks when you can get it in 1-2 days, professionally packaged. Why pay another $29/y membership when Amazon has it all? BB&B is fighting a losing battle trying to focus on becoming an online giant when people are expecting to bring their spatula home today. One by one customers will stop coming thru the door as they'll just assume we don't have what they need in stock, which we don't. And it'll won't be BB&B they'll order from.

I’m speechless!!!! A volume store....3FT and both ASM’s let go. We were at least 200 hrs under to begin with because no one is applying, but then again who wants to apply to a company that has just laid off massive amount of people...again!!!!! I’m still trying to figure out how are we now going to give “customers a great experience “!! It will be an experience all right, but not a good one!!!!

Yeah we just got 13 pallets and can't hold that many. We're a B volume store in D volume building. No room to breathe.

Even if they do manage to last through this pandemic, they will be a shell of their former selves and eventually, they will crumble. Give it 4 years MAX.

🙌PREACH🙌

I said it once and I'll say it again.... people who got severance packages are the lucky ones!! If you were smart, you would have quit when the extra Covid-19 unemployment benefits took into effect. All you had to say you were high risk because of a medical condition, or if you lived with anyone at risk. There was nothing they could have done to stop yoy from getting the $2400/month + 80% of your salary. I know people who got waaay more than their regular salary when they were unemployed.

SCREW this company, I can't wait to watch it crash and burn.
