Have a growing backlog in work, but still applying and interviewing elsewhere. Makes sense to outsource my function, and I’m not going to wait for that.

I don’t know what’s happening in the UK, but stateside BH is trouble. There are several good reasons to think that there will be significant jobs cuts before the end of the year, but the exact number is anyone’s guess.

Assume that your job isn’t safe and plan accordingly.

I am reliably informed there has been around 20% pay offs from each Aberdeen site and those that remain think there will be more this year.

Any dept that loses all their work after being market leader couple years ago has to be a bunch of dumfxxxx. What a train wreck for stoneywood management

Sent home? BH threw money at me to stay. Not enough compensation to work for under qualified managers. So yes, bailed.

I feel for all me ex colleagues still working there. So much uncertainty for such an educated and qualified workforce. Managers really were appalling.

Bailed or got sent home?

S—s to be Baker right now. Oil price slump, still #3 and losing market share and people. Little confidence of turning things around and gutting the technology groups ... that’s just shortsighted poor management simply trying to stay relevant themselves. That’s a another nail to the coffin.

Who’s your expert now? Yeah, he look familiar? They got the porters doing tech work!

Not surprised. Apart from the covid and oil crash impact, top brass have run the company into the ground, paying themselves and their pals top dollar. It'll be the average worker who suffer for their incompetent decisions. Glad I bailed when I did.
