Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Reporting Threshold for Layoffs?

I’m surprised that this amount of company layoffs didn’t have a news statement by the company. Is anyone friends with a reporter that can get the story out there?

Bed Bath and Beyond doesn’t even have the decency to lay their employees off in person. They called; the coward way of doing things. I feel bad for all of the employees that just lost their job.

"We are encouraged by the strong customer response to new services such as BOPIS and Curbside Pickup, and the continued strength in our digital channels as we improve the curation of our product assortment, enhance the ease and convenience of the shopping experience..." -Mark Tritton

Oh, so your big plan is to save the company through BOPIS and curbside pickup? Why is BBBY acting like they're the only ones doing this. They're not even doing it well. I had a lot of customers cuss me out because their order was canceled because our inventory numbers are a nightmare.

Just take a look at their Instagram posts. They're full of customer complaints about missing orders and now somehow, everyone is mad at us for carrying goose feather products? BBBY does NOT know how make their customers happy and that is going to be their biggest downfall. How do you expect to improve customer satisfaction when you eliminate everyone who was there to help them? And your customer service reps straight up ghost people and make them regret ever buying from you. Ya'll are never getting those customers back.

Seriously out of touch with reality.

So.... are they gonna replace people with robots now, or....? They claim they did this to "improve" in store and online experience for their customers. Just how do they accomplish this, if their buildings are empty? Is Mark Tritton gonna be coming into the stores to do floor sets and help with receiving and put away? What. A. Joke.

BBBY leadership is full of snake oil salesmen. Theyre going to deny, deny, deny that they are failing even after they file for bankruptcy and go under. Sad part is the people who have to pay for their mistakes are the ones who made them money in the first place.

But, what do you expect. This is American Capitalism at its best.

Wow. 2800 people laid off??

My theory on them getting ready to do liquidation sales might be coming true. Get ready to do the biggest clearance event of your lives, people. 😳
