Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

No clocking in or out behind CS desk!

Are any other stores doing this? Was told not allowed to clock out back here. In fact this person had said no one allowed back here. So how are people supposed to get their returns? Is this a company wide thing via staff meeting or certain stores?

Tool dept. is the rule.
I don’t abide, due to having to stand in line waiting for someone to mash those keyboard buttons.
Then the next person making multiple typos.
And the next person chatting while slowly pecking out their password.
I’d be late if I waited.

Im punching in at the first terminal, closest to the door. If there was a computer in the parking lot i would punch in there.FU Marvin

To all those that said clock in your own department, did you not get training/reminders to Always clock in/out in Tools to increase red vest traffic in that area? Can’t believe my store is the only one.

No one should be in customer service that isn't assisting customers. It gives a bad impression to the customer seeing a bunch of employees with no one helping them. Also, as many have said, you clock in and out from your department. You arent suppose to be getting paid for walking to your locker and changing.

Unless you are coming in before the doors open or leaving after the doors close you should be clocking in/out in your department or an adjacent department. Put your vest on after you clock in and take it off when you clock out.

Clock in on the first open computer you see.
Clock out on the last computer you see.

Work delivery. Here's how I throw it back at them. We have to clock out in recieving. I have loading tickets to sort and hand in at the service desk. I won't hand those in let alone carry them in my hands off the clock(considered a work related task hence doing so would be a violation of company policy of working off the clock.) So I saunter on up to the desk, sort and put away my loading tickets, then saunter ever so slowly back to receiving, and clock out. Over a weeks time I accrue at least 30 minutes of OT with this method by following their rules snicker

Not newer associate, supposed to use terminal in Tools. We’ve had loads of training & reminders about using that station. Want to increase traffic in that area for reasons you should know, but don’t want to state here.

I’m guessing y’all are mostly newer associates. By policy you’re supposed to clock in/out at the terminal In your department. There’s nothing new about it, it’s just something most stores don’t enforce consistently if ever

We’ve always been told to clock in/out in Tools. And with recent move of CS with separate entrance/exit door they don’t want us going in there either to get our return carts or to access SM/ASM offices, training room, or EPP supply area.

Our store, they want all the front end crew to clock in and out there.
Few do as our lockers/break room area is at the back of the store.

As customers see the Red Vest and stop you...In and Out at the closest Thin Client to the back.
