Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Intel's next-generation 7nm chips delayed until 2022 will continue to impact HPE New Products / Future

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-53525710

ntel says the production of its next-generation chips will be set back until 2022, following years of delays getting its current-generation chips on sale. The company said it was exploring "contingency plans" such as having third-party manufacturers produce some of its products.

In June, Apple said it would transition its Mac computers away from Intel processors and design its own chips. One expert said Intel risked leaving a gap for competitors to step into. Intel said it had identified a "defect" in its manufacturing process that led to the new delay.

Will HPE Execuitve team ever learn that HPE been needed to decouple product strategies away from Intel Processor Roadmap / Availabiliy etc.....Didn't we once have a Processor that could have been optimized by HPE Engineering.

CNCF is the modern day equivalent of HPE Coupling its future and oustsouring innovation thanks Phil Davis, Justin Hotard. How is this working out for HPE.

Before I was laid off from HPE, I was looking into AMD EPYC for our servers because of Intel's massive slowdown with their production and roadmaps.

I was told that our marketing and product management teams were ahead of me in this interest. I can assume that this is true through out all the of the company and not just the small product line group that I was in.

Also, it's important to know why HPE has been loyal to Intel for so long. Intel provided marketing tools, excellent support, and they would pay us to use their products and help fund development on our end. These are things that AMD didn't offer (but very could now if Neri and Dr. Su arrange something since AMD is the new CPU leader).

Should we start using AMD, HPE and their competitors will start riding that train and Intel will look like even more of a failure of a company.
