Recently a long term associate was asked to work his day off so a short term associate could have her day off. The long term associate was scheduled to work by himself while they scheduled the newer one to work with 4 others. This newer associate stands around talking or leaves the area daily for her half hour breaks and 1 hour lunch. When the long term associate asked management why they scheduled like this he was told, because you are a different caliber than she is. Even management knows the newer hires work ethic is non existent!

Without repeating what has been said I will just say that once you have been here 20 plus years your passion will fade also. Always giving and being taken from makes a person very weary.

Your passion would be gone too when you are a long time associate who isnt making the money they deserve after being there for many years. All the while Joe Blow starts at Sam's and is making more or close to what you make and has zero work ethic. They b—s— on their phones and lean on tables and watch you work. They dont answer walkie calls because you are the senior guy in the area. The go too guy for everything because you have all the years and experience. You get all the work load because of your experience and years of service. Do you seriously have to question and wonder where the passion is? It's more like the senior people are tired of being used. They will work, but why work hard when it clearly doesnt matter anymore.

The companies care is gone. The newer employees don't get trained properly, if at all. The managers, assistant managers and team leads do nothing for the most part except stand back and watch for an opportunity to attack someone. Favoritism runs rampid. Long time employees are a target and the company would rather get rid of quality and get quantity...which the newer (younger) employees are fine with. Those reasons are why their passion is gone. And it is also the reason that many shoppers now prefer anywhere but Walton family owned.
