Signed off on my package, and received the confirmation. This is my second and last layoff from M. Good times and bad. I do feel for those embittered people who still have jobs. Wage slaves now.

To the person who takes offence at my use of the word "slave"... I know a number of people who have worked for macys either directly or through acquisition for many years. They will never find another job that will pay them nearly as much as they are making now. They can't resign, and they dare not be terminated. These are hourly associates. They are "Wage Slaves".
The Macy’s I worked at had me running up and down steps 7-8 hrs a day with no help. My back was screwed and had to take a leave. Came back got laid off. So Macy’s isn’t a safe place to work. Plus their stock rooms are beyond dirty and never get cleaned out with boxes blocking fire exits
poster, @ulht161CeEcI, must be one that received part of the exec 9 million dollar bonus. For everyone else, best of luck and there is a great future ahead!
Current Macy's employee, not embittered, not wage slave, (note, check your usage of the word slave, so not PC)
I am treated very fairly. Do I have a lot of work to do? yes. That's why it's called a job and not summer camp.
Macy's has always been very fair to me. They pay me to do a job and I do it. I don't gossip, I don't wander off the floor.
Macy's owes their employees a safe environment period. Macy's is a business they are not your parents, they don't owe you.
So take responsibility for your life and stop blaming unfortunate happenings on Macy's .
Good luck, but you better make sure you get the money you deserve. A confirmation number means nothing if they change anything.
Good luck
