is it installed on UK machines? ( I assume it violates GDPR so they can't)

Hint: They don't care. If they get caught they'll claim it was an administrative mistake, fire a few sacrificial goats, and continue as iof nothing happened.
Check to see if its installed. They've mentioned a desktop icon and you can always open your installed applications and search for it.
