Already living the dream. Quit doing anything useful in 2016 so far nobody has noticed. A RIF would just be more money for nothing.
My fantasy is to get RIF'd and take my severance then forget I ever worked at honeywell at all, like it was just a bad dream. I take a few months off and find another job at a company that isn't ruled by greed and incompetence.
Start working for the competition and remembering the weak points.
Flat growth for 20 years. Suppliers know HON is a slow pay almost on the verge of a no pay company. Once inside you see the dysfunction and horrible morale at the US sites and gross incompetence of the leaders on short sited "bonus metrics" that drive failure.
Just move on and look in the rearview mirror to see a slow painful decay of "an animal on the highway."
Dude, man up and walk out with your head high, knowing that it wasn’t your fault. Doing anything else means that you’ve brought yourself down to their level.
