Today I was told to bring offshore IT team up to speed on all onshore responsibilities.
Told not to worry about job security because it just makes sense....... What's cooking?

Start updating your resume bruh you're toast
You're losing your job, or those beneath you are. Trump isn't the reason and he is obviously not the one to solve the issue. The problem is the financialized/money-power economy which seeks total outgrowth like a weed. Third world economies taking your earnings are inevitable and bourgeoisie will exploit you happily as you are humiliated by being made equal to those in squawler. Oh praise equality.
Don't worry, your jobs are fine...
Pretty much all besides a skeleton crew will be offshore by EOY in IT.
If you are in IT side for business retail, RUN.
Contractors can be let go anytime. Also contractors must be terminated after working 4160 hours per federal law.
Hearing rumor. NJ IT Contractors getting let go this month. Last day June 30th. This has got to stop. During a Pandemic??? Heartless
lowest concern for AGILE worker
As soon as you finish training them...... you’re GONE buddy.
And the executives wonder why morale is so bad in IT (GTS).
What responsibilities? Could you list a few things they want you to train the offshore team on?
Yeah, don't worry, be happy! ... Dude, you need start looking ASAP!

I agree but in my experience when they free you up from low value work it usually means they will hand you higher level work from another department who has made a case they no longer can reasonably support that role. Once you get that new work (with little to no training and now no support) in a quarter or two you'll get the lower value work back because it got so mis-handled by the new department they moved it to.
I always worry when they start talking about wanting to "Free you up from this low value work so you can dedicate your time to more interesting activities". What they don't tell you is that those more interesting activities will probably be with a new employer...
I smell a Shanks stew cooking with big piece of fatty vivid pork.
These two only cook and eat Indian
Get out of the kitchen
Bye bye, Miss American Pie.
It's just a precursor to the inevitable. Train them up - or not, doesn't matter - and start counting the Thursday's until you get called into a conference room and presented your separation package.
We’re cooking salmon tonight, and my wife is making an incredible salad. In regards to your question though, I would say worry. They are going to jettison a raft of people out into the void, sounds like you are one of them... set adrift in the emptiness of unemployment, that s—s, start looking, and don’t train your replacements too well
OP sounds like he is from offshore. Why such in deference?
Start looking for a new job.
I remember when part of our sales pitch was that Fios tech support would always be US based........
What's cooking? Your deceit...……...
Start looking for a new job. How dumb do they think people are? Train your replacements but "don't worry". Yeah...
This happened to me (at a different, comparably sized company). A month later 90% of US based support was let go.
