Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Retail - Touchless

For the people that are working retail, how are your regions/districts talking or implementing touch less retail. I work in the former west area and just feel that they keep pushing it. We can see the pressure the DM and GM is getting. I think that it is taking away from the point of touch less and keeping people safe to trying to hit numbers and micromanaging it. My state is considered a hotspot now and we are being pushed to help customer side by side on BPKs or even sometimes help set up my Verizon so they can use smart pass. I’m sure they we are not the only stores dealing with this just wanting to see what’s going on out there.

Same in LA man, my GM is going crazy for this touchless nonsense. First of all, they retire premium pay when we are at a peak high in COVID-19 cases, then they push for us to have customers do everything on the app and the touchless tools on the iPad fail ALL THE TIME! Before we could use the BPK, now that's "not acceptable" anymore???...no real reason, my manager just said is because "it doesn't help our numbers". Some things never change around here, it's always about the rankings on the report, not really about employees or customers. Their mommy Krista is probly pushing for that touchless sh– to eliminate jobs at the stores and turn most locations into self-serve stores, oh and they want me to go to Part time as well?!? The f— is wrong with you?!?.

You guys know the whole touchless is just a check in the box right? The executives, especially all these fools in the Pacific are just managing to not be at the bottom of some broken report. They don't work in the stores so clearly they don't understand their "tools" don't work half the time and just add more time and frustration to employees and customers. The DMs and Directors read out on a weekly basis just to come up with new ways to cheat the report! F—ing hilarious!! This touchless has NOTHING to do with keeping us safe and healthy, it's all about THE REPORT. One team changes? New mentality? Doing what's right for employees and customers? Executives, I have news for you: Your actions don't match your words!! You have the same micromanaging strategies to stress people out, stop kidding yourselves with this "New Verizon" BS! You can coach me all you want for not doing touchless, fix your systems, fix the report, spend time at th stores understanding why customers refuse to use your great "tools" and then come back with a REAL strategy and solutions to do what's right and not just manage to numbers (which by the way are STILL WRONG). Your leadership style is PATHETIC.

They're pushing the touchless so they can claim it now safe and now they no longer need to pay us the hazard pay!

@1air+15tli1IJ I think you just stumbled onto a conspiracy. Verizon is pushing touchless in California because cost of living is so high they want everything to turn in to either an express store or an an automated experience and we are the test subjects for it.

We are only allowed to do in store pickups at my store in cali. If they want to upgrade I have to do it on the kiosk and then wait for my manager to process it as an in store pickup. If we cant do that we have to have the customer do it on their My Verizon app... takes up so much time when I could do the upgrade and then do cobrowse mode to sign but nope its all to check a box. It looks so bad when we have multiple reps waiting to do the customers transaction for them at the kiosk...

What you think these soup nazis gonna change over night. Let's their pay checks get cut 20% then we will see how willing to micromanage they are.

Yeah same. It’s becoming more of a check the box thing and now the director is having managers post numbers at the end of the day along with the dm wanting numbers posted on another group while also making sure google forms are submitted. All this while wanting managers to be outside on 100+ degree weather. It’s getting too crazy!

Like always push it to check a box, not for the real intent , the only thing that is easy is co-browse mode...touchless is the same as all the other things im the past just to check that box , just like nps (the survey is about me) when its really not, myaccount , registering people in store to do a transaction on the computer in store , but then people starting keeping peoples logins to relogin to pump # of transactions...and that was a legal issue...same $hit diff day
