Nationwide outage hits T-Mobile
Jun. 15, 2020 6:02 PM ET|By: Jason Aycock, SA News Editor
T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS) is experiencing a nationwide outage late today that it's recognized and attempting to solve.

"Our engineers are working to resolve a voice and data issue that has been affecting customers around the country," T-Mobile tech chief Neville Ray says. "We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have this fixed shortly."

The outage is widespread enough that it's causing the perception that other carriers are experiencing problems, but AT&T (NYSE:T) and Verizon (NYSE:VZ) say their networks are doing well and that failure to connect to T-Mobile customers is creating the impression of a wider outage.

After hours, TMUS is -1.1%.

Kind of wondering if this was caused by being in too big of a rush trying to merge the networks together. All of those routers in the the CORE and the remote routers in the field. Wondering if they pushed scripts that were totally FUBARED, which then caused the outages, then losing communication to every device. Next step would of been sending a Tech to each and every device and having to delete everything and go back to the old configurations thus back to the blackboard.

Of course it was a disgruntled Sprint employee. You can do a lot of damage with IP addresses

Interesting. There are reports that TMO made layoffs (WARN) notices to many Sprint employees yesterday. June 15th.
