Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Sensing the wheels are in motion.

In all my years at Wells Fargo no I have never had a mid year review. Suddenly they are an official thing with a formal email sent by management. What once were casual conversations on the phone or IM about work items are now formalized in emails. I sense The scrutinization of employees is starting to happen leading up to the inevitable.

It's in the benefits book. 2 weeks for every year of service with a min. of 6 or 8 and a max. of 52. Almost in the middle of my 52 weeks from WIM reorg. Will official retire at end as I am past retirement age.

Does company give any payout for a layoff?

We had mid year reviews some years, and then not others. It was difficult to know what to expect from year to year because HR kept changing the forms, the format and the ratings system. If they’re enforcing mid-year reviews this year across the board, I’m guessing the firm wants to be sure they’ve got all their documentation ducks in a row for pending lay-offs.

if this place writes up a pip, i would wonder if I was on candid camera - considering they are decades behind the rest of the world

I’ve had a mid year review every year of my 5 years here, although often it’s not until August. That was for roles in a Wealth and Consumer, in an incentive eligible position. I find it shocking that some groups weren’t doing them.

PIP from this place? Wow, things are done like from 1800's.

I just got role at boa, with a good pay hike for same role!

Yep...we've(mgt.) been told to PIP anyone we can. Make a case, get 'em out – to avoid severance and unemployment.

Your sense is right on. They notified my team of mid year reviews for the first time ever too, then shortly after came impossible to meet PIP’s, then termination. All part of Chainsaw’s plan to reduce costs.
