Right Management - any benefits?

Hello everyone,
I have received a few emails from Right Management after RAed. I quickly skimmed through and looks like they created my account in their system automatically and help with the job search. Perhaps IBM provided the information. I wanted to ask if it's worth subscribe to their services?

Thanks

I would say a drawback of RM (for me at least) is that they don't really have any background in the industry IBM is in. Most of these people are just coaches to help you keep your chin up. They don't really understand any of the skills or markets we might try to find jobs in. Just generic interviewing and resume advice.

Also, they all WFH around the country, so don't expect for anyone to help you navigate the job market in your city (or state).

All in all, it's good for a free resource. The downloads are useful. But this won't preclude you from likely needing a recruiter in your area or industry.

Right Management did not make me feel like they provided a true personalized service based on my current needs. It was always about going through a checklist to make sure I did this and that weekly so they could "Write" me off as mission complete eventually. I would prefer if Right Management knew some local connections with actual companies that they can help hire. But it looks like they are more of a "give us your info and we'll make it look like our standards" kinda thing. Nothing really personalized to make you stand out.

For this round, it looks like RM cuts you off 6 months after you sign up.

I've attended a few webinars. It turns out I will end with a job through an old connection so I don't really need RM's services. Still, I'm attending some of the webinars and downloaded some of the content. IBM already paid for it so I may as well take advantage of it.

I know RM say IBM cannot/do not track individual usage but I do wonder if they can...

I would use every benefit IBM gives you in the RIF. I was RIF'ed in 2018 and used Right Management. There are some useful things from them, a new resume, using their tools to research new companies, pulling Dunn & Bradstreet reports to assist in learning about target companies. IBM pays for this service you are a lifetime member. You can always go back to Right Management for assistance. Another nice thing about RM is networking with the other members- they are very resourceful and share information about companies, contacts and hiring. I agree with comment above where some of the RM staff themself need help....

I'm in the U.S. and have taken several of the Right Management classes since I was RA'd at the end of May. I have a coach who is fantastic. Since I have not had a job change in 20 yrs the training is very helpful as is the resume assistance. It's all about what you put into the sessions and I will take any help I can get. I now have a great looking LinkedIn page and a solid resume. I will take advantage of the Right Management recruiter connections and virtual career fairs. I am working my way to the other side and will survive. IBM can eat my dust!

They will not get you a job, outplacement only. They will have a resume person redo your resume, hold weekly conference calls about job searching topics and offer access to a few databases. Outplacement is good for a person who hasn't had to switch for a number of years but that's about it. You are on your own.

Answer to two posts over writing senators/congressmen and Racism.
Well, I got great experience, skills, and industry's well-known certifications and not old (late 30s) but still got RAed. I was told by my manager that my specific skills not required in the department anymore after the recent reorganization in GTS.
I found 3-4 open jobs on IBM internal portal which match my skills/experience but I don't qualify because they require Citizens and I'm not a citizen.
So I would say Americans should be happy that at least in my case, a citizen will replace a non-citizen.

It is paid by IBM. If you have time, why not go there a couple of sessions and see if you like it or not.

I was RAed two years ago and went there maybe 3 to 4 times. For me, the most help I got from them was resume coach through phone and email.
