Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I don't know if that's true. Almost everyone who works here now will be gone in three years, six at the most if there's an extension, and there is still going to be a ton of work. Whether Verizon likes it or not, nature is not kind to the outside plant, and someone's got to keep it together. Remember, FiOS was supposed to get rid of all of us too, how did that work out?

There are no wireline jobs in the future of this company.dont you get it writing's on the wall . I only hope to get another 10 years and I'll be able to get out..

We have hired 7 full time permanent people here in the last 2 years. But it is not easy to get in.

There are wireline jobs in about you now.....splicers in MA.....techs in VA, and customer service in Pittsburgh

They haven't hired anyone in years, nor have they brought anyone out from inside. The junior guy in my garage has 24 years. We have so much work and not enough guys to do the job.

There are no wireline jobs, nor will there ever be.that part of the business is dying away. Good luck
