Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Take Control back!

I worked at UOP for a couple of years and the people were great. I still have good friends that I talk to even though I’ve been gone. Management is hit or miss depends on who get but overall ok.
The company though leaves something to be desired.
We were severely under paid and when we complained they said if you don’t like it leave. Which I did.
Why stay working at a company where, every couple of years you have to look over your shoulder?
My friends who are still at UOP said you guys had your raises taken, couple of weeks of furlough and now potential lay-offs.
If your in Illinois there are plenty of places you can go work.I got a significant raises just by going to a refinery. No more block whatever. No more having a manager who barely sees me work rate me. No favoritism well not as bad. Fixed 3-5% across the board. Now it is a little more work but I still have plenty of down time. Smarten up gents Either get a union or get out.

I agree I left uop 2yrs ago and never looked back. I’m with a great company where I see long term growth with.
I do feel bad for the few friends I have at uop.
Some of them are just now waking up but with the job market what it is hopefully everyone lands on their feet.

Thanks for your insight from the outside looking in. It seems like we are all getting out of UOP either by getting RIFed or opening our eyes to other opportunities. No one wants to take control back. We just want to get out of this situation as soon as possible. Why would we work an extra 16 hours a week to cover for RIFed people while getting no raises, no bonus, and likely to be RIFed soon too?
