What is your current view of Verizon as a company.
Commission structure changes were inevitable however the way it was rolled out and the timing during a pandemic seems to be a bit suspect what is your overall feeling of the company?

I think part of the new pay change has a lot to do with peer jealousy because a decent percentage of reps were making more money then an SM and GM. I have seen and heard leadership laughing about all of this showing zero empathy like it was a victory against reps who fell in the top 10% of the company. Keep smiling and laughing because if your a manager wait until you see what’s coming next. It will be a leadership downsizing of epic proportions. You didn’t think the new pay plan was going to be the only casualty did you?
Same here Winners Circle every year I have worked for Verizon and a few President's cabinet trip here. Always with high customer satisfaction.
The other commenter was exactly correct you stand at the door and take whatever walks through the door you never know what you're going to get. But others are in the back not paying attention to customers you don't make money that way.
This is going to be a major financial impact to me and my family. We should have seen it coming. I do believe the company is taking this opportunity could do it dramatically and really have the screw you attitude.
If any of you were on the conference call with Krista on Thursday the 12th if you stayed on the line the conference organizer didn't disconnect the call. It was amazing to hear the voice tone difference of Krista for my nice excited pleasant voice.. to at one that was just vile yelling for the call to close. It appeared her and her henchman we're going to talk after.
the company doesn't care about you they are pandering to the younger generation using buzzwords and positive b—s—. This isn't for the greater good this is for the good of Hans & company.
Well being a 5 times winners circle employee, making beetween 80k-100k annually, I have to say this has to be the biggest slap in the face for us reps that put in work . Now I’m not a “slammer” like your stereotypical heavy hitter, I’m always at the front door taking anything that walks in(ie. brown boxes, returns, escalations) while most of my coworkers are just sitting in the back talking about what they did the night before, then complaining on why they didnt make a commission for that month. anyways what I’m saying is I’m not going to put in all the work I used to do, to make a “lazy” rep get a commission check . Luckily I’ve got more income sources on the side that I’m going to focus more now that they are offering part time positions.
Yall really think they are gonna micro manage metrics? Come one now... take care of the customer and stop worrying about all the BS. Let them threaten all they want. They wont fire you.
@1wnk+15phZpgB Full time, anything less is a walk out the door
So does it make sense to go partime or ride out full time as much as possible
They’re going to breathe down our necks around ard tmp & pt. It’s still a part of sales dollars and when the company notices that the stores are not producing what they once did the directors and dms will start micro management tactics.
The same ppl complaining on here after every comp change, are the same ones who will not leave on their own. You’re stuck with vzw because you spent the last 5 years in the same role. If you love the job that much then roll with the punches chief.
I didn’t realize just how many people have been so jealous of retail salaries. Sad lol
You won’t be making 60k 😂
Was there anything about severance in the training? I believe I saw it in the comparison chart for 24, 32, and 40 hours.
Would any one recommend for long term employees who where heavy hitters to go part time? Would that be a bad move. Just thinking less stress more free time
Verizon does not care about employees. Everything they do is for PR or shaeholders. You are just a number. Retail is dead.
I agree with @ilx+15phZpgB , I have been around along time, too long but im stuck now, earned a decent living , vzw has afforded me a nice life for the most part, but thats not without my effort... but this new structure is designed breed laziness. Before when you sold something you felt rewarded , now selling means zero. It goes towards a team incentive where if i do nothing i still get my slice. So here is the deal for long time employees , stay full 40hrs , enjoy your lots of pto , and just take your salary(i know its not the same as with commission) but based on the training if you been around enough you can still get 60k for a pretty easy gig. So if the store does great thats a bonus but if the store is god awful then you lose barely any money , so basically just dont care because thats what vzw wants you to do , you wont make the money you did ,but you wont lose much on this new plan vs putting in max effort on new plan , so take your sweet time with your customers , take your full breaks and then some , leave on your scheduled ending shifts because it doesnt matter in the new ussr i mean vzw
This was eventually going too happen. The pandemic just brought in about sooner. I believe the 40 hour reps will eventually be asked to go part time or be under more scrutiny than the part time reps. For example under the old system reps who got anything below a 9 score on the survey were just given a" talk" especially the "heavy hitters".Now the store mgmt will take it personally when their wallet is concerned, so reps will be put on pip. Fulltime will be helping more people. So your job is being rated by the people who are still frequenting the " phone store" I dont care who you are everyone gets a below 9 score ris occasionally it's a no win anti employee work environment!
Verizon may have adopted the term "socially responsible" but they have no idea what it means. We still havent been given the details as if rolling this change out slowly has been part of the plan to ensure that more of us leave. How can you pressure your workforce to make a decision about how many hours they want to work when they dont have their hourly wage in writing? Who does that? Who treats their employees this way during a pandemic with record high unemployment?
Verizon is still the poster child of corporate greed and no matter how many Forbes study results they pay for, the way they handled this shows they dont believe in doing the right thing, paying a living wage or treating people with fairness and respect.
There are honest top reps out there. I will give you that. I do feel bad for the 1-5% of you with morals and still did well. Unfortunately Verizon just doesn't have a need for sharks (I mean that in a good way to that 1-5%) anymore. I know it's an unpopular opinion on here but 100k is way too much for a retail rep it was bound to change.
@hbp+15phZpgB ok.. I have NEVER sold a HUM. I did very well selling with over 90% RIS. Not all top reps are shady. Clearly you never understood how to make money. HUM was not the way to a big check.
Verizon will be fine, I don't think anyone said otherwise. This is about the employees. The two faced management style.
Yes the decision makers did not think how this would effect the quality of work in the store. For me personally just to make a 2.5k check a month I had to hustle and work hard. I was a well rounded rep with respectable numbers in all categories. If I decide to stay that hustle and drive will be completely gone because there is nothing to strive for. The team commission goal is just not worthy. The new commission structure is designed that the difference between a super hard working team and those who just skate by is only a few hundred dollars. So what kind of incentive is that? Now at least half of the stores will be filled with attitudes like mine so yeah the decisions makers did not think of that.
The childish training.
The lack of information.
The demeaning tone.
The use of Covid to do this.
The lies they care about employees.
The Social justice b—s—.
Where is Hans? Where is Ronan?
Where did this Krista come from? She is becoming the most hated person at Verizon.
You don't get it. You have no skills.... Slamming hum isn't a skill it's a lack of morals. Verizon will do just fine in this new climate.
I lost a lot of respect for the decision makers in all of this. The new plan was not developed to weed out bottom level workers who were always on again off again a pip .This would include reps who were always 25-50% of their quota. Lazy reps who just came in and went through the motions to grab a paycheck. So what does Verizon do ? They give those workers all a clean slate and a healthy increase in their pay so they can keep doing what they do with zero pressure at all.
