Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

WOW..AT&T Lights Up Dynamic Spectrum Sharing for Nationwide 5G

Translation:

if it is actually 4G, it will be in major cities and nowhere else for years to come. looks good on the tv ads but most of us in middle america still don't have fiber. i live a mile from a Central office with fiber running out the windows but none of it is in residences because we are a small town.
So it is just More paid lies it is still 4G they are just renaming it 5G Banded.. Smoke and Mirrors with AT&T.

"Literally NO ONE in any city with more than 10,000 people in it are complaining about their wireless speeds"

I'm afraid you are incorrect. You must be someone who tests the network and creates reports about how great it is.

"Multi Gbps. No lies"

That's great but not sure as a mobile consumer i need that or would want to pay that. Maybe there are applications for it in industry.
Maybe when holographic p–n comes out I will need that bandwidth.
Even today my ISP service is 300Mbps and i have 46 devices connected, including several streaming HD TVs and one 4K TV, none are ever starved for bandwidth.

Guess you cant understand what 5g is. It is a standard. ATT is deployed 5G NR across the nation. 2 flavors, a sub 6ghz which uses the same frequencies we use from LTE. DSS allows us to use both the same Bands across both at the same time. And then you have your Millimeter wave, which is super short range but high capacity. Multi Gbps. No lies

This does nothing, except lets them use same radio for LTE and 5G. All of the low band 5G being deployed byt T and T-Mob. is not any big enhancment. Speeds and latency still close to the same as 4G LTE.

if you have worked for the company for any period fo time then you know that "small town" or "middle America" do not get these technology upgrades until they have been well saturated in markets where they can actually lead to making money.
So you can look at it as "paid lies" or just BAU
