"I started a gofund.me to give Bernard Looney new teeth. Horrible for a multi millionaire"

Maybe he can use some of the 7+ million from the BP stock he sold shortly before taking over as CEO to pay for them.

One team by sending people to the one and only unemployment line. Ethics and morals out the window. Overspent money in computing center that was never used at optimal capacity. No diversity agenda paid off - likely filled the EEOC with allegations left and right - retirement benefits...truth coming out, that will have never been paid anyway. Now, the CEO crying like a baby with one eye on his bank account. Safety first, take care of yourself.

Welp, thanks BP - this should only worsen the unemployment glut in the O/G sector that has hit Houston. However, now with one of the "Big Seven" enacting layoffs, this has strengthened my resolve to change industries.

The mothership really is lurching about at the minute? 17B write down seems like a knee jerk reaction??

Keeping those working on renewables...ha...ha! bp can't make anything happen. Sell what's left and get out of the way. Even when bp advocates, ends up damaging the arena for those who can deliver. Remember beyond petroleum broken pieces bad press.
all bp!

"Any young folks (below 35) considering EOI? Seems like it is the best time to move on from this dying industry"

I am in my late 30s and am considering EOI...been with BP almost a decade. If you can afford to hit the reset button, then go for it...life is altogether way too short - think of poor George Floyd.

If you have a big mortgage & kids, then best keep your head down...network like a busy beaver in a flood and keep riding the rollercoaster.

Because you are asking this question, I would say go for it and take the EOI...that is what I am going for.

I once hid a cheese in a BP meeting room years ago. Assume it is still there.

Lots of IBM and Tata there. If all the BP people are kicked out, noone will supervise them and it will be chaos

The problem is that after working in BP you are damaged goods as 99% just wait for the final salary pension but on the other hand you will survive an attack by any red tape alien monster.

I was there once and they had a staircase policeman - checking that you hold the railing. Rather odd for pour office workers after a lot were k–led in the refinery boooooom and the exploding gulf oil rig.
If they would remove the staircase police, they might get a few extra redundancies by the staircase deaths.

We should layoff ALL oil and gas folks and keep ONLY those working on renewables!

Knowing this place (which spent all kinds of money on slip simulators and 1-way arrow stickers on the f—ing floor) they will cut the wrong people and lean out the front line workers in refining and exploration, and keep hiring and paying sh–ty 3rd party consultants like PinnacleART.

Sorry, my fault. I started siphoning off diesel from lorries a few months back in my eco-drive. Has saved me a few 1000 quid which I could use to plant trees (or not)
