Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Hiring for RMs

A former co-worker from a previous job I had reached out to me and said he just applied for an RM position at Follett and wanted to know if I could lead him to the hiring manager. I told I've been laid off and don't know who is left. Well, apparently they ARE hiring. I have not heard from the corporate office since April 3rd. Is the Ivory Tower even open?

There are always arrogant people that figure the people they're replacing are just a bunch of losers and when they get into the job (mostly with no previous experience) they'll show the management how it's done and they will be highly rewarded. Met one young man who came in with experience as a movie theater manager and he told me that with his vast experience (he was 23 years old) that he expected to be a RM in 6 to 9 months. If he wasn't he would move on to someplace that would appreciate his skill and talent. This is the prototype employee that Follett wants. Low ball the pay, no benefits, and spit them out at the end.

Yes. They have been hiring and advertising for open jobs this whole time. It was posted a few weeks ago. Simply check LinkedIn, or Glassdoor.
This machine feeds on fresh meat. They require employees to be ready to relocate (so they have a stream of lower paid workers ready to replace the better paid veteran front line leadership). They are always hiring for the manager training program. They are always hiring. It's how follett works.
I hope you screamed at your friend to run in the other direction as fast as possible!
