I am a retail store employee. I am medically unable to wear a face mask. Severe Asthma!!!! Can I wear face shield instead? Will corporate allow? Possibly being called back to store. I can not do work from home as not strong enough internet service.

You should consider changing careers, maybe become a GM and stay home and just take conference calls and keep saying "leadership "over and over again. The simple fact is the stores are not safe. They are run by people who tell you its BAU with hazard tape up, touching customers phones, business accounts not on the "touchless" retail protocol, no phones on display, spraying down areas with unknown fluid in a spray bottle were customers just stood. Managers are not recommending digital sales as much because the SS are back in the stores.I could go on about the hypocrisy that goes on and the constant micromanaging thats going on. Just think what the stores are live with the new commission compensation and not on guarantee! Stay home or try to post out of retail.
I know people who wfh in an RV in the middle of a national park. You can find a way to WFH. Sorry not sorry.
I can respect that you would be worried about your safety.
Not to belittle your situation, but I would defiantly not feel comfortable working with you with just a shield on.
I never said I didn't want to work. I am willing to work with face shield. I asked to work from home, but horrible Verizon service. Was told no work from home as almost zero Verizon service. Sorry you don't understand. The question asked was, will HR/Verizon allow face shield as a substitute to a mask. Severance is 2-3 weeks per year not months. Not looking for severance, looking for a way to work.
It is time to get back to work after 4 months of paid vacation. Low internet speed! What a joke! If your condition is real, Verizon is offering a buy out offer to those with medical condition and cannot work at the store. You can get 3 months of salary for each year of service and leave now.
You're fired.
Yes, medically documented in my Verizon file. Was approved Covid 19 leave because of it. My store closed shortly after approved.
Do you have a doctors note? HR will ask for one. Face shields alone don't protect you according to the CDC.
