You may also want to take inventory of all your skills and see if they fit in other industries outside of banking. For example, can you move to into a cash manager position with a company outside of banking.
Went through a job search last month. Tons of interviews but basically every bank is in a “holding pattern”. (Wells hired me though..)

You may be confusing job postings with actual hiring. Almost no one is hiring.
Depends on the role. Stay away from Citi as they are getting ready for layoffs.

I usually dismiss disgruntled postings on message boards, but I talk to my peers and others regularly who are unhappy here.
I'm unhappy here.
I used to tell my directs that a even a good job comes with good times and bad, and to judge the job over the long run.
But most of the folks on my team have been miserable for the last three years.
Between the massive amounts of crime, the lack of progress working with the regulators, the complete cluelessness of management, and the never-ending threat of layoffs, this place is just plain ugly.
If you do not mind me asking, what area do you work in and why did you decide to leave? Compensation or different reasons?
