Hiring through Workday

Apparently Workday is fast tracking new hires for our club. When I asked what that meant I was told that Workday is hiring the people, sight unseen. This is so wrong in my opinion. How can you hire someone without even interviewing them? Workday is a joke. I also understand the front end team leads are going to be taking over the accounting duties. Oh Boy is all I can say to that one.

I don't care how they hire them, just hire someone. I don't care what they look like as long as they can run a register. We're dying here. I had one cashier last night. No cart attendants and no desk associate. Pulled from other areas to cover the front. Members b–ching. Tempers flaring. So not happy to help. Love the no points covid call off idea.

MSM’s/COS’s were suppose to take over business office duties last June. They were suppose to train and be ready for the duties by the end of June 2019. But no one held them accountable for training and we still have the same business office associates who were suppose to be absorbed into the front end. It is upsetting because PTC position was eliminated and duties went to the Coach’s and Leads and PTC either took severance or found another position in the Club, yet business office associates are allowed to stay in their position? Yeah they’re called “frontline or front end” associates, but neither one of ours comes out of that business office. Ever. Situation was opened doored and still remains the same.

We had one girl show up for her interview in a Halloween costume!

I have seen women come in for their orientation dressed so inappropriately. We had one young woman come in with ripped jeans, off the shoulder blouse with her red bra straps showing. My God what has happened to one dressing professional? Then there was gal who had on skin tight leggings, ridiculous. The ripped jeans gal never even showed up for her shifts. This is such a waste of time and money. I agree with Post ID: @dqj+1583BRuJ...great information. We need personnel back and the accounting person.

Unfortunately this is now the practice. Candidates applications are their interviews. If questions are answered "correctly", these candidates are sent an email for orientation. Surprise! So inconvenient for Management and Leads. Already running the club under the pandemic crisis short handed and hello, need to conduct orientation. In addition it also seems that majority of these new hires do not stay more than a week. "Wasn't what they expected" or they didn't like the work hours assigned them. Accounting office is to be handled by the MSL team however adequate training is difficult to achieve. Too many times as an ex-accounting TL I have been asked to finalize for the team, research shortages that cannot be obviously rectified or to find journal answers and actually complete/read reports. There is a problem with favoritism and nepotism and ageism. Personnel and Accounting need to return. We need a person in-club that associates can knock on a door and get answers for questions and problems. Accounting has too many financials that management team cannot resolve. I give up.

It’s been happening in our store for a while, people showing up for orientation and no one knows who they are or even what dept they got hired for. Not a good thing. Workday hired a 50plus man for the parking lot and it’s already over 100 degrees out here no way will this guy make it once it starts getting 120 plus in the summer

How many associates have put in for other jobs just to be passed up? And then you find out that a manager is pulling in a friend from another club for the position. This is wrong. Favoritism, nepotism.
