We’re being told in Retail that there is currently a hiring freeze. Most stores right now are running on a very minimal amount of employees, barely enough to open the doors every day. Of course everyone is saying that the freeze is due to COVID. I guess I’m curious if these hiring freezes are actually related to COVID, or is it more due to upcoming job cuts.

I feel for the honest rsc’s. Those that are scumbags will pivot naturally to ihx
Retail is going to take a shocking hit. 1 in 5 stores left after cuts.
Bunch of ignorance here. Hiring freeze is DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO DO BACKGROUND CHECKS.

IHX doesn’t have a hiring freeze but is only allowed to hire internal from retail and techs right now so both retail and prem-techs are likely to have job cuts and they want IHX to take on some of their headcount.
You’re going to see so much sh– close this year, specifically ATTR. With al the places filing for bankruptcy and vacating prime retail spots, you bet your A– ATT will drop one to get the other. And strong arm to get a better deal too.
Yelp. Big cuts on June 1 to COR..
But i guess when an employee gets hit on the parkn lot by a car etc, then he/she will have the upper hand with the lawsuit! Just wait, employees passn out on parking lots due to heat! Lawyers will line up for sure!
It's the new normal around here. It has nothing to do with Covid.
Upcoming job cuts.
Remember when the union complained that the “job guarantee” clause of the new contract was flawed since they could essential transfer you ANYWHERE (w/o any relo)?
Then the union caved. They should have fought harder.
Be ready guys. It’s about to get crazy.
