The state is starting to reopen slowly but still under strict regulations. Non-essential business allowed to operate curbside. As far as office work, I don’t think corporate workers are in the union headquarters. Few weeks ago some people received emails for a job opportunity to work from home as part of the call center. The company would send them equipment if they accepted.
From looking at the feedback on here seems like they are bringing back SM, OPS, 1Sup and 3 part timers.(A volume stores) Problem is the very low budget of hours to operate curbside, process freight and CDS orders 7 days a week.
My guess is that they will extend the furlough for other workers and proceed according to what the state/federal regulations are. I also anticipate the company urging managers to take advantage of this opportunity and get rid of some workers based on performance. (A lot of retailers are doing this).
Memorial Day- with the nice weather and people wanting to hang out, let’s hope there’s no increase of cases because it will force us to take steps back into lockdown.
We should see what happens in tomorrow’s call.
